W.P. # 145    Write about the fall.

Quotation-Paulo-Coelho-inspirational-Meetville-Quotes-152964

As writers (screenwriters, poets and artists) sometimes we get stuck in the process of creating ideas, forgetting for a moment that even if two novels share an inciting incident they will be inherently different because of the approach of their authors.

Today, I started reading John Lescroart’s  The Fall and discovered this aforementioned similarity with The Cuckoo’s Calling. On reading more I discovered that this tale was unique. Different. Because the story to be told wasn’t ab out a supermodel who had been murdered, but a teenage girl who was looking forward to moving out of a group home.

So, your task if you choose to accept it is to write about a fall.

  1. Oh… i wrote, complained, whined to everyone who would listen, when i went “body surfing” down my front (brick) stairs last July 31st. Yep, head first; all the way down… Oddly, i managed to be funny enough in telling it that a few people thought i was just writing a goofy story. (Which did not go over well with the whining mood i was in. LOL.) I had to send them pictures of all the bruises and scrapes and swelling to make them stop laughing. Okay… so now i think that part is funny. 😀
Thanks for another great prompt, Melissa.

    • Happy writing Teagan, and glad the prompt helped. Sorry to hear about the fall though, head first is never a good way to go down except that you can try to buffer yourself using your arms to protect your head. Anyhow, here’s to happier posts! Have a great day tomorrow!
