And while you focus on yourself and your family toady, may you remember that building a list or wall of people who inspire you, will help you to be better and to create greater work. As you go through your week, try to imagine what it would be like to know that you have given it your all. Brené Brown in her book Daring Greatly, extolled Teddy Roosevelt’s 1910 speech, from it she points out, “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena…” When Bacall talks about winning and fighting here, it brings me back to that quote, the person doing something, and taking action because that is what counts. What matters…go forth and make your mark.
Starting today and for the rest of the week, as you go about your work meditate upon this quote. May it provide you with the strength and resolve to keep on going as you go about your day. And above all, may it help you to watch yourself and your actions. Remember, each day is a new day, may we live it to the fullest, take everything into perspective and still remain undaunted.
