Brené Brown in her book Daring Greatly, extolled Teddy Roosevelt’s 1910 speech, from it she points out, “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena…” When Bacall talks about winning and fighting here, it brings me back to that quote, the person doing something, and taking action because that is what counts.
